Miniature book and binding (55 x 40mm). 26pp. engraved throughout, including four-page view of Adelphi Buildings (London’s first neoclassical buildings), with red duty ink stamp on title-page. Subjects include a list of the important days of each month, royal birthdays and coin weights. In yellow silk-covered boards, all edges gilt, in a contemporary [18th century] miniature silver binding with exquisite filigree work of a naturalist design to both covers, with a working clasp in a filigree rosette motif, spine decorated with arabesques. Apparently unmarked. In excellent condition.

The Company of Stationers, founded in 1403, began publishing almanacks in 1603 and continued to do so for nearly 300 years. Almanacks such as these were published annually and intended to be discarded and replaced with the most up to date volume.
