This copy once belonged to Thomas Herbert Ellison (1927 – 1976) a British physicist and meteorologist, whose ex-libris appears on the upper pastedown. This book was published posthumously in 1946 and furthered sir Arthur Eddington’s ‘Fundamental Theory’. With this ambitious project, the author’s intended to bring together quantic theory, relativity and the laws of gravitation. Sir Eddington was a pre-eminent British physicist and mathematician who chiefly contributed to the first diffusion of Einstein’s theories in the UK.
