Offprint (lot 196) from Bonhams catalogue “Books, maps, manuscripts and historical photographs” of 19 June 2013. This plaster death mask was taken on 7 May 1821, two days after Napoleon’s death, and presented to the Rev Richard Boys, Senior Chaplain of St Helena. Consigned for sale by a direct descendant, it realised £169,250 (inclusive).
